My Mission Statement

I write to serve, to unite, to educate. I write to share literature and flesh out ideas that may be of interest to others. I write to document an emotion, experience, or a blip in time. My mission is to write in such a way that the reader is reminded that we can find humor in all situations. It's one of the great blessings of life.

Sunday Thoughts

I've been a little preoccupied with house guests the past few days. 18 people have been sleeping in my cottage since Thursday, four left today, and a few more will leave tomorrow. I'm tired and a bit grumpy, but nothing a little sleep won't cure. I'm reading Jerry Spinelli's new book EGGS, but I'm only about 7 chapters into it. One thing I noticed was that it took more chapters than I would have thought to get to the problem. I've struggled so much with that in ANCHOR that it makes me wonder if I'm focusing too much on somebody's blanket 'rules' instead of concentrating on what works for my story, Marina's story.

Having a home full of guests gives me lots of time to observe a range of personalities, traits and mannerisms. Okay, well, duty calls. I've got to run. Have a great week. I'm off to Chautauqua Saturday, remember, so if anyone has any last minute tips for me, please send along asap! I'll be back with you soon, and I promise to keep a good account of chautauqua on this blog, so you can enjoy the experience with me. xoxox

ah, the rule question... let me know when you get it figured out, will you? I'm a bit tired of wrestling with it myself.

Can't wait to hear about Chautauqua and hope wonderful fantastic things happen for you while you're there.
