My Mission Statement

I write to serve, to unite, to educate. I write to share literature and flesh out ideas that may be of interest to others. I write to document an emotion, experience, or a blip in time. My mission is to write in such a way that the reader is reminded that we can find humor in all situations. It's one of the great blessings of life.

My Space Should Be Called Time Vaccuum

I did it. I joined My Space. I've resisted it for a long time, but there it is. I did it. Can I undo it? I don't know. But I'm not sure I'm glad or not. First of all, I'm having trouble figuring out some things which I know sounds ridiculous to my YOUNG and SAVVY friends, and my mother may be reading this wondering what space I'm talking about and hoping it's nothing dirty. (It's not, mom, really) Anyway, if anyone wants to visit me on My Space, knock yourself out, but I think I'd rather have you right here.

Which brings me to an uncomfortable topic that I just HAVE to address. My dear readers, my blog hits are at an all time high. I've had GREAT numbers the past month, but NO ONE ever comments anymore. What's up with that? If anyone cares to fill me in, please do.

It's been a big day for me, really, because I also held my first kind-of meeting of this year's OM team! Woo hoo! You all know how much I adore OM, so I'm really psyched for a new year. BUT it's also a lot of work, so I'm kind of exhausted thinking about what's ahead. Any OM coaches out there who want to offer suggestions? I'd really like to network with some other OM coaches. If you have kids, you should definitely start a team and network with me.

I'm a little grouchy today for two reasons. 1. I'm out of diet Coke. I'm about to go to the store, actually. 2. well, now, I can't remember the other one. What WAS I going to say? I guess all that stuff about Aspertame is true after all. Maybe I shouldn't go to the store. What WAS it? Anyway, sorry.

Oh, I remember. #2. I haven't been doing much reading the past three days. I need a fresh book. This week is a picture book week, so stay tuned for some new and great recommendations although I'm still so in love with the Llama, Llama books that I might just want to read those over and over again. My son would love that, anyway.

My daughter played in her first travel soccer game yesterday. It was a beautiful thing, I have to say. Almost like a ballet as the group of adolescent girls floated up and down the field. They beat the other team handily 10-0 and in a lovely way. I wish my girls could understand how beautiful they are at this age, but somehow adolescents are trapped in feelings of awkwardness and self-consciousness. I look back at the years when I should have been prancing around (and yes, I mean prancing) in a little bikini instead of stumbling with a towel wrapped around my practically-turtlenecked speedo one piece. Now I'd be happy to prance, but alas my body is no longer prance-worthy. Is that all because Eve and that darn apple?

Last week was the fair. Let me tell you big city folks something, nobody does a fair like a tiny little town. Edenton's fair is awesome. One price, kids ride everything they want as many times as they want. I even dropped my daughter and her friends off Friday night for a few hours. One of the few last perfect places on earth. Let me update my list.

Perfect Places:
1. Top of Jockey's Ridge
2. Howard's Knob in Boone, NC
3. Small town fair-particularly ours
4. NYC (you KNOW I had to add it)

Have a wonderful week everyone. I must go to the grocery store for Diet Coke with SPLENDA,etc. xoxox

Okay, here, I'm commenting! See, this is how you do it! AT least the COMMENT feature still works.

Of course it works. We just get so busy reading and running, we don't take time to comment. However; are you sure you joined My Space? or was it Face Book?

Congratualtions on the many hits!
