My Mission Statement

I write to serve, to unite, to educate. I write to share literature and flesh out ideas that may be of interest to others. I write to document an emotion, experience, or a blip in time. My mission is to write in such a way that the reader is reminded that we can find humor in all situations. It's one of the great blessings of life.

I'm BAAAAACK

Finally I am back with you. I want to apologize for my long absence. The last few weeks have been busy with Odyssey of the Mind state tournament, sickness, and a tragedy close to us. Without going into details, it definitely makes me realize that life is so short, we must do all we can every day. It makes me want to do everything I can with my kids NOW--travel, snuggle, play games, just hang out, because all too soon, it will be gone. It also makes me want to mend and strengthen relationships even if it means acting in a BIG way. It also makes all the little things matter not at all. My husband and I have planned to actually do things that we've talked about for ages.

When Chris was in his car accident a few years ago, we made a lot of small changes in our lives, but most of that has faded away. I'm ready to make big changes where there's no going back, but who knows where to start? I just know there's a lot of external clutter in our lives that takes up time and energy, and it just doesn't matter. I know we spend a lot of time pleasing other people even when, sometimes, we know it's not the best thing for our family. So I'm praying for divine guidance on this one. Some things came to be immediately (thanks, God), and I'm excited about them. But I know there's more...I pray that we'll have the courage to just do it. To live a life that honors people over the demands of day to day life.

Join me tomorrow for Grateful Wed. And if anyone has any suggestions for realigning the Koppelman's lifestyle, then send it on.

We work, we have families with our spouse and day by day, the time flits by. It's hard to know most of the time if we're in the process of 'blooming where we're planted,' or missing opportunities that God wants us to take. Both ways may have merits. One never knows what small things will influence our children and make them into the people they're supposed to be. And then, we have to take care of ourselves, too, don't we? It's a hard thing to decide what to do sometimes. I know you're a prayerful person, so I think you have to trust God right now to provide some answers.

I'm so sorry for your tragedy. xxooo
