My Mission Statement

I write to serve, to unite, to educate. I write to share literature and flesh out ideas that may be of interest to others. I write to document an emotion, experience, or a blip in time. My mission is to write in such a way that the reader is reminded that we can find humor in all situations. It's one of the great blessings of life.

Mooseltoe by Margie Palatini and other musings

I've been SLACK on my book reviews lately, so I'm happy to resume with such an awesome book. If you're looking for a great Christmas book to read to the kids or grandkids, a great gift book for a family with kids, or something to share with adults who appreciate good literature, this is your book. MOOSELTOE tells the story of dear Moose who is planning to host a Christmas party. Complications ensue (as in every great children's book), and Moose takes his role as host to a whole new level. This is a hilarious book about getting in over your head, doing ridiculous things to 'save the day', and flying by the seat of your pants. Parents will love it as much as kids if not more. Every time I read it, I laugh all over again. Check it out!

I wish you were all here to laugh with me this morning. I shampooed half the rug in my family room. Now this is the room where we all live--four kids, two dogs, occasionally the cat, lots of friends and traffic in this room. It's mostly wood floors but there is one rug. Anyway, I shampooed half the rug, and the difference is unbelieveable. I nearly fell down laughing. I probably shouldn't tell you this because it sounds so gross, but it does make me realize how much traffic we get. The funniest thing is the part of the rug that's really bad is right in front of the Wii. Hmmm.. Gonna have to get THAT spot more often. So anyway, I just can't bring myself to finish cleaning it because it's just so funny, but I guess I'd better wrap it up.

Decorating is coming along...I still need cotton stalks if anyone can help with that. Oh, and I have a GREAT business to recommend. Schoolhouse Farm in Virginia. If anyone is interested, I'll give you more info or you can google it. They sold me some beautiful, very fresh greenery for the tour. The prices were great, it was shipped to my door, and the service was amazing. Good folks over there.
