My Mission Statement

I write to serve, to unite, to educate. I write to share literature and flesh out ideas that may be of interest to others. I write to document an emotion, experience, or a blip in time. My mission is to write in such a way that the reader is reminded that we can find humor in all situations. It's one of the great blessings of life.

Haiku the Sunday New York Times

"All the news that's fit for haikus"

States are broke. Leaders
Ask, "What else can we tax?" Air?
Funerals? Haircuts?

The Obama Seder
Shalow without borders starts
At sunset Monday.

Hundreds dead thanks to
The Lords Resistance Army
Tapili, Congo.

Tehran hosting Bomb
Enrichment Sites inside two
Mountains. Strike Iran?

Who's struggling in school?
Some stats find boys lag behind.
Schools should step it up.

And now the local news:

Monsoon today here.
Backyard flooded. Streets are, too.
Needed a delay.

Someone broke into
Our OM workspace and trashed
a costume. So sad.
