My Mission Statement

I write to serve, to unite, to educate. I write to share literature and flesh out ideas that may be of interest to others. I write to document an emotion, experience, or a blip in time. My mission is to write in such a way that the reader is reminded that we can find humor in all situations. It's one of the great blessings of life.

Haiku the Sunday NY Times!

Scientology.
Always knew those folks were strange
Defectors talk. Wow.

Heartless thief steals shoes
From grievers. Cinderella
Solution kicks in.

Were your shoes stolen?
Korean victims come and
Try. They fit? You keep.

David Axelrod
Rough times for him. He's struggling.
Misses home for sure.

Rhode Island school board
Fires a school full of teachers.
Sorry, your school sucks.

First female marines
Trained to help with Afghan girls
Headed for war zone.

Travel section calls
Tuscany without the crowds
Looks just like heaven.

Okay, I could do that all day, but I'll take you out of your misery. It's a great exercise to get your brain going in the morning. Give it a shot. One week I'll do the Chowan Herald. That'll really crack you up. It'll probably go something like this.

Tourist speeding. Stopped.
Tax money for our town. Hooray!
Lord knows we need it.

I'm *still* waiting for OM pics to be sent to me, so I can post them for you. I've got a big writing day today. Hope you can stretched your creativity this morning. No matter what you do, you'll be better for it! Have a terrific day!

OOPs. Found an error! Change 2nd line of last Haiku to:

Money for our town. Hooray! (remove tax, too many syllables!)
